About Us
AlterEgo was founded by Suzannah Wallace, a former Sony award-winning Producer at BBC Radio 1. Having produced shows such as The Chart Show, Drivetime and Weekend Breakfast, Suzannah moved to The Surgery, a show giving advice and information to young people. Here she worked on a number of successful campaigns including the blue anti-bullying wristband campaign, a campaign for healthy eating and the Radio 1 Sex Tour, leading to an award for BBC Team of the Year.

Being privy to the deepest, darkest secrets of young people all over the country, it became apparent to Suzannah that what many of them needed was a boost in confidence and a confidential place in which to work through their worries. Facing important decisions and dealing with many different pressures, young people were struggling to know who to talk to and what to do with their lives. Suzannah felt that coaching could make an enormous difference to their futures and help young people to gain clarity, focus and the confidence to move forwards in a more positive way.
Always passionate about working with young people, Suzannah started her career as a teacher in Secondary Schools in Japan. During her time at the BBC, she volunteered on numerous projects including the BBC London Community Mentoring Scheme as both mentor and project manager, at Feltham Young Offenders Institute and as a coach for various charities.
Having trained as a coach in 2003, in 2006 Suzannah decided to leave the Surgery and the BBC and set up AlterEgo. Her mission was to help as many young people as possible realise their potential, maximize their confidence and lead happier, healthier lives.
Since leaving the BBC, Suzannah has won a Guardian UnLtd Social Entrepreneur Award and been featured in many press publications. If you'd like to get in touch with Suzannah, please contact her here.
